What is Frocktails?
Frocktails is a social event for people who sew their own clothing. The first Frocktails took place in Melbourne, Australia in 2013. Now, there are Frocktails events around the world! At its heart, Frocktails is a party — complete with drinks, music, and mingling — but with a creative twist: attendees are encouraged to wear something they’ve made themselves.
What should I wear to Calgary Frocktails?
Something that makes you smile when you gaze at your own reflection in the mirror. Maybe it’s a beautifully tailored suit you made for your corporate life, a dramatic ballgown, a favourite pair of jeans, or even ready-to-wear styled with a little me-made bag over your shoulder. This is about celebrating personal style, creativity, and the clothes that make you feel most like yourself.
This year, Frocktails is right before Halloween! While Frocktails is not a costume party, if you’re putting blood, sweat, and tears into a special costume/fancy dress outfit, wear it!
